from $5.77

Salix babylonica 'Oberli’ - Hardy Weeping Willow

- a hardier version of the well-known deciduous tree
- long narrow leaves cascade dramatically from an upright tree
- this cultivar was originally collected by Heinz Oberli from 11,320 ft elevation, in Nepal’s Langtang Valley
- non-showy flowers in spring
- a vigorous cultivar also good for winter animal forage
- Willows are generally very easy to root from hardwood cuttings or long rods poked deep into the soil
- a tea made from willow stems can be used as a natural rooting hormone for plant propagation
- best in full sun and moist (but not waterlogged) soils
- may reach to 30-50 feet tall and wide
- grows in zones 4-8

- rods are unrooted cuts long enough to start your living sculpture with! These are cut to order, and so quantities available may be higher than listed. Please inquire if you need more for your project, and I’ll check!

- ships bareroot, wrapped in a soil-less medium to keep the roots damp

- ships in cool spring, fall, or winter seasons; not during summer
