Clematis 'Silver Moon' - Silver Lilac Spring-Summer Clematis

Clematis 'Silver Moon’ - Silver Lilac Spring-Summer Clematis

- deciduous vine with large showy flowers
- profuse 6-8 inch pale silver lilac blooms have wavy margins and pale yellow stamens
- blooms in late spring to early summer, and late summer to early autumn
- flowers are followed by ornamental fluffy seedheads
- climbing vine can grow 8-10 ft high by 8-10 ft wide
- climbs by wrapping leaf petioles around thin objects; a tame type of climber
- excellent for use with a wall, fence, or arbor without damaging said structures
- great companion for early spring flowering shrubs, for extended blooms in the same space!
- thin dormant stems look very dead, until they leaf out in spring - so plan accordingly
- likes its head in the sun, but its feet in the shade; great in partial shade
- spring/summer bloom pruning group 2 = prune lightly in early spring, and after first flush of flowers
- grows in zones 4-9

- ships bareroot, wrapped in a soil-less medium to keep the roots damp
- ships in spring, fall, or summer seasons; not when dormant
